The Studio S Approach
At Studio S School of Music, we believe music should be an engaging, hands-on experience — not just time spent sitting at the piano bench.
Our lessons are active, creative, and designed to meet each child right where they are.
Every student learns differently, so we weave together a variety of teaching methods to support all learning styles — visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. You’ll find us moving, clapping rhythms, and exploring sound in ways that make music come alive.
Hi, I’m Sara Austin, and I’m so glad you’re here!
Music has been a lifelong passion of mine — one that has shaped my career, my creativity, and my heart for teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Education from Murray State University, and I’ve had the joy of teaching music in many settings over the years.
I began playing piano in 8th grade, but my love for music started long before that. Since then, I’ve taught middle school general music, choir, and theatre, directed children’s choirs, served many years leading worship ministry, and performed in world-class low brass ensembles and jazz orchestras. My primary instruments are piano, voice, and euphonium, though I enjoy exploring and teaching many others.
In addition to my teaching career, I’ve also built a thriving business as a freelancer and marketing professional — skills that have shaped how I run my studio with creativity, organization, and care. Years ago, I founded a successful music studio called Studio S, and I’m thrilled to be bringing it back to life to serve a new generation of young musicians.
At Studio S, my goal is to help each student develop not just musical skill, but confidence, expression, and joy. Whether through piano, voice, or collaborative classes, I love creating an environment where students can learn, grow, and truly love making music.
